Dan Williams is a new media writer and producer working on original independent, sponsored, and branded entertainment projects. Most recently, he created and produced a dramatic web series that was sold to BET Networks. He is a member of the International Academy of Web Television, regularly participates in industry panels, and guest lectures at universities. Dan has also worked at talent agencies and television studios, in development and production. He lives in Los Angeles.

Great Information - Up to Date (as of 2013)

The problem with books on Youtube and digital media is that this industry changes so fast that the information could be out of date before the book is even published. This book has enough evergreen topics that it makes sense for now at least.
There are plenty of real life examples from top Youtube web series creators and Youtube stars. You get to read interviews from people that have created totally different web series, not just scripted of vlogs.
There isn't much information about getting the production down, so if you are going to try and some high production value, you might want a book on budgeting and scheduling productions.
It would help if there was a supplemental website for anybody who bought the book with more resources or a blog of updates and trends.

A little too basic

A little too basic for what I was looking for. But the interviews etc were a nice read. I was hoping to find more info on genre studies for web series, and even more detailed info on marketing and Promotion. The book just skims over these essential details.
It says allot money for marketing. Does not say how to go about it.
