Good Book but 1 Theologically Questionable Statement

Overall, a pretty good weight loss book. However, there is one statement made in the book that I feel is a real stretch. about mid-way the book, Black writes that being overweight (gluttony) is similar to struggling with drunkeness. Using a portion of 1 Cor 6:10, he states "If a drunkard will not inherit the kingdom of God and gluttons are considered the same as drunkards then a glutton will not inherit the kingdom of God either." I find that really hard to believe. Many of the great preachers through the ages have been overweight. I personally don't believe that God would turn away someone from Heaven who had spread the gospel and won souls to Christ, just because they were overweight.
To be honest, I haven't finished the book , but I'm a little over 75% done. Black has only mentioned this point the one time in those couple of paragraphs, so far. I'm not sure if he truly believes what he wrote, or if he just wrote it for the shock value. In my opinion, he could have left that inference out and had a better book and, at least for me, kept his credibility.
